Yes the mighty Orange has cut my Internet off. The bastards.

Currently sitting in Leicester Library using the Internet here as being on support from the government requires me to keep looking for a job to continue getting free money and the papers have had no job listings all week so my little job hunting diary has very little written since the last meeting I had with my Job Centre person.

Apparently I can signup to a new ISP on the 3rd next month, but even then I still have to get that all setup so I should be back blogging proper by the middle of next month.

New years resolution will be to make blog more interesting and more personally relevant to me and my musings as not having the Internet has made me realise how little time I spend free thinking on my normal routine.

Blog Labels

I have been putting some labels on some of my archived posts, but by doing that it makes them showup as new posts in the blog RSS Feed and pushes todays stuff off. So I have stopped doing that for the time being. This blog has a large number of posts (1,566) and I am not willing to add labels to them all in one sitting and I am not sure if that is worth it. But I would like them all to have labels for consistency's sake. So as compromise I will probably do a few everytime I go a few days without posting just before I post something new.

New Version of Blogger

I have just migrated the whole Blog over to the new version of Blogger and the right navigation bar is no-longer pushed down the bottom of the page when viewed in FireFox. However all my post titles are underlined and I cannot find where that is specified. Otherwise I am happy with the changes. Like I can now publish posts instantly, make template changes instantly (that used to take a good two minuets), editing the Blog template is now easier and I can add post category labels.

Blog Code Updated

Have updated the blog code so that ClearType in IE7 works. All I have done is remove the code which tells the browser what font to display and specified a font size so that the text doesn't look all tiny. And as well as looking a lot better in IE7 now, for some reason the font looks a lot better in FireFox too, so bonus!

I still have that problem where the sidebar on the right gets pushed down to the bottom of the page in FireFox, but it doesn't make the page less functional and I am hoping to fix that when Blogger releases the new version of Blogger because that has a new layout engine and a load of new templates, although I do like the one I have.

YouTube Posting is Working

Looks like YouTube has been fixed and I can blog videos from inside YouTube now. So instead of giving you a link to a video, the video will be included on the post page. Will check the RSS after I have posted this test post to see what happens there.

2nd Birthday Today

Post number 1425 and I have now been doing this for two years. When I think of this yearly post I always think that I should take a picture of something like a cake or something, but I also think that would be too predictable.

Got memory card reader, have transfered pictures across from phone, have also made post with pictures linked in. But I still have to write comments and it's too hot for that. Once again it is nice and cool outside (being dark and all), but if I open a window I get attacked by moths. Yes I have opened the window a little, but it's not wide enough to cool the room sufficiently. For the room to be cooler the window gap aperture has to be at moth flying-in size or greater. Anyway so far tonight I have killed one spider and moved three flies in the past hour. They are attracted by the heat and light. This annoys me emencly.
