E3 2005 Is Over

Fargo's E3 Blog has a good coverage of the event, but lets see what we learned.

  • Sony will be trying to trump Microsoft's simultaneous (US, EU & PJ) release in august by doing a simultaneous (US, EU & PJ) release spring next year.

  • Microsoft is going to continue leading the pack as far as multiplayer goes. Right through until the XBox3 arrives it seems.

  • The jury is still out on the 360's graphics, but since nothing was playable we will probably have to wait until launch to get the scoop.

  • Speculation is haunting the PS3's architecture as people pick at Sony's design decisions. It might have no CPU cache, it might not have a programmable pipeline, but Sony still shows off The Best FMV.

  • Nintendo was as coy as ever with the details on their new console. My only hope is that they actually have something good in the works, but they seem to have settled nicely into being third place.
