I was just thinking about how a lot of people don't complete the games that they play and then I had an apifany about the definition of hardcore gamer.

Somebody who will orientate their lives around games or someone who will play and complete a game even if they hate it.

For example a hardcore mountain climber will travel the world specifically to climb mountains, not really having an explanation why and hardcore film buffs will someones sit through and analyse a film they hate just so they can say more accurately why they hate it or to complete a series of films.
